Here’s where you can paddle in glow-in-the-dark kayaks in Ontario

Kayaking just got a whole new makeover with the increasingly popular glow-in-the-dark excursions! Picture this: nightfall on the lake with an illuminated kayak — can you think of anything better?

It’s a fun, new way to experience the water with a little something extra, and there are many places in Ontario where you can participate. Ready for a paddle? Here’s where to visit.

Level up your kayaking game with a night paddle in a glow-in-the-dark boat. Throughout the summer, River Adventures Bayfield hosts exclusive glow kayaking sessions every Friday and Saturday.

Light up the beautiful Bayfield River (near Goderich) with tricked-out kayaks that are outfitted with underwater LEDs, illuminating the water in hues of green, purple, and blue.

Designed to provide a little something extra to your regular paddle, these staff-led night excursions are sure to be both relaxing and party vibes.

All paddlers will be provided with personal flotation devices and glow kayaks, perfect for solo-trippers or a gang of friends! A certified River Adventures support staff hosts each night paddle to ensure everyone’s safety, and it will cost you $75 per paddler.

For something a little bit more local, check out Illuminated Escapes from Toronto Kayaks in Toronto or Brampton, where immersive paddling experiences are all the rage! Clear kayaks are fitted with glowing light strips that illuminate the water beneath you, and are even available in tandem boats.

It really couldn’t be more beautiful — imagine a tranquil and lively paddle under the moon, with the cityscape behind you! Launching from Sunnyside Beach and Heart Lake Conservation in Brampton, this illuminated kayak trip is certainly romantic.

Plus, Illuminated Escapes provides paddlers with Bluetooth speakers, and you can even bring your own charcuterie boards (and other snacks) too!

Each paddler is provided with a PFD, safety kit, repellent, and waterproof pouches. Illuminated Escapes also has transparent paddleboards and water bikes, too.

From kayaking newbies to pros, an illuminated kayak trip is something for everyone to enjoy. For city paddles, Illuminated Escapes will cost you $65 per person for 100 minutes, while a Brampton ride will cost you $35 per person for 50 minutes.

Go forth and paddle (in the dark).
