What if your next getaway consisted of relaxing on a floating sauna on a lake in the middle of a forest? That’s the experience waiting for you at Glamp Good, a hidden wellness retreat tucked away in the boreal forest, designed for anyone looking to slow down, disconnect, and reset.
Created by husband-and-wife duo Simon and Many Gommerud, the retreat grew from a simple idea: to create a peaceful place in nature where people can step away from busy routines and spend more intentional time outdoors.
Located in Wetaskiwin County, Glamp Good is a private retreat set on 160 acres of forest landscape. It’s the setting where trees stretch for miles, and everything feels calmer the second you arrive.
When it comes to where you actually stay, there are a few different options depending on what kind of experience you’re after. According to Glamp Good, the property has modern cabins, including the Fern and Hawthorn, which feature cozy interiors and floor-to-ceiling forest views, making it easy to unplug.
If you’re leaning towards something more unique, there are also geodomes on site, including Tamarack, Spruce, Willow, and Aspen. These stays are a little more minimal in design but still super comfortable.
Beyond the accommodations, the property has several shared spaces that enhance the experience. There is a central cookhouse available to all guests, equipped with seating for up to 10 people, food-prep counters, a barbecue, and a pizza oven.
There is also a heated showerhouse and eco-toilets available on-site. Although the shower space is fully off-grid, it’s designed to feel more like a small wellness facility than a typical campground setup, with warm finishes and a more elevated spa-style aesthetic.
But the real standout of the whole experience here is the Ritual Floating Sauna experience. According to Glamp Good, it’s Alberta’s only floating sauna experience, located just seven minutes from the property on a nearby lake. It’s a private, guided wellness session that runs from May through October and is designed for small groups, so it feels more like a shared reset rather than your typical spa experience.
If you want to elevate the experience a little more, you can also add a guided yoga session, which leads right into the sauna and sets the tone for a slower, more relaxed time on the water.
If you’re planning a stay at Glamp Good, you can book online, and pricing depends on the type of accommodation and the time of year. The cabins start at around $395 per night, while the geodomes start at $295 per night.
The Ritual Floating Spa experience can be booked separately as a private half-day excursion. It will be available throughout the summer and fall months and is designed for groups of one to six people. Pricing for the floating sauna starts at $840 for up to four guests and $1,260 for a group of six.
If you’re already staying on the property, the sauna experience is included in your visit, making it the perfect addition without a separate booking.
At this point, Glamp Good is basically what you think of when you picture the perfect Alberta escape. Between the cabins, geodomes, and floating sauna, it’s a space that’s designed to feel like an escape from your everyday plans.
