If you’re already planning an escape from the winter chill in Edmonton, Flair Airlines just announced the return of a direct Mexico flight this December.
The airline announced on Tuesday that nonstop flights between Cancun, Mexico, and three Canadian cities, including Edmonton, will return in December 2026 for the winter travel season.
The Edmonton to Cancun route will operate three times per week from Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2026, to Sunday, April 4, 2027, giving Edmontonians a direct escape to one of Mexico’s most popular beach destinations.
The other cities are Calgary, where flights will operate four times weekly beginning Dec. 17, and Montreal, flying three times per week starting Dec. 16.
“We’re pleased to return nonstop service from Edmonton, Calgary and Montreal, giving Canadians more ways to get to the sunshine in Cancun this winter,” said Len Corrado, CEO of Flair Airlines, in a release.
Tickets for the flights are on sale now through the Flair Airlines website. So if you’re looking to ditch the anticipated snow for sunshine and beaches, now might be the perfect time to start planning a winter getaway to those sandy shores.
This is just the latest in flights that have been added to YEG’s lineup this year. Last week, Porter Airlines announced four new direct flights from Edmonton, with new routes to Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.
In April, Air Canada announced a new non-stop seasonal route between Edmonton and Montego Bay, Jamaica, which will run daily from Dec. 7, 2026, through April 4, 2027.
