Here’s another charming Ontario town that’s worth the road trip. Home to three destination waterfront parks and a popular hub for watersports of all kinds, Georgina, Ontario is next on our radar and here’s what to know.

About an hour’s drive north of Toronto is Georgina, Ontario. Located along the south shores of Lake Simcoe, Georgina is a beloved summer destination, especially for its watersports.

We’re talking bearing, jet-skiing, kiteboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing and kayaking.

According to the Town of Georgina, you’ll find more than ten marinas throughout Georgina and 52 kilometres of Lake Simcoe shoreline, which means there are tons of opportunities to enjoy the water.

“Thanks to direct access to the Trent-Severn Waterway, Georgina can be reached by boat, with moorage in Jackson’s Point Harbour,” shares Destination Ontario.

Along with the activities, Georgina is home to three destination waterfront parks – Willow Beach, Holmes Point and De La Salle Beach and Park.

If you decide to visit these lovely locations, it’s important to note that no outdoor cooking, BBQ or any cooking devices are allowed in the park or at the beach; No dogs are permitted on the beach area and no fishing is allowed in the designated swimming area.

Done with water adventures? Georgina is also home for having the largest paintball courses in Ontario – Georgina Paintball.

There’s also a provincial park in the area – Sibbald Point Provincial Park. Here you can enjoy hiking trails for all skill levels, sandy beaches and over 600 campsites.
