Your next outdoor adventure is calling! What if we told you that you can go island-hopping at Georgian Bay Islands National Park, and it’s just two hours north of Toronto? Explore over 60 islands that make up this wonderful destination this season.
Georgian Bay Islands National Park is only accessible by boat, and if you don’t happen to own one or know someone that does, you can hire a water taxi or embark on the DayTripper for a cruise to Beausoleil Island.
Your journey begins with a scenic boat ride, which can be reserved in advance if needed.
Here you’ll get to explore the world’s largest freshwater archipelago, as you venture through its 63 islands and inlets, according to the Global Alliance of National Parks.

The largest and most popular island to visit is Beausoleil Island. This is where you’ll find a network of well-maintained hiking trails and waterfront campsites, cabins, and rugged rocky lookout points with the absolute best views.
According to Parks Canada, there are a total of 103 campsites and 10 rustic cabins on Beausoleil Island; 45 sites, 6 rustic cabins and 5 oTENTiks available by reservation on Cedar Spring Campground.
“The remaining campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible camping is available at Cedar Spring Campground,” shares Parks Canada.
If you’re looking for a more secluded camping experience, you can rent rustic cabins on Christian Beach. This is the perfect opprtunity to immerse yourself with nature and embrace its beauty.
Though there are tons of things to do on the island, you can always embark on the traditional sailboating, kayaking, cycling, boat tours, fishing, swimming, and animal watching experiences.
Care for a hiking adventure? You can participate in long or short group hiking trips that run from mid-May to the Thanksgiving season. Short or long hikes – take your pick!
