This Ontario island is known for its stunning fall views & it’s totally worth the trip

Looking for that next great fall adventure? If you want a recommendation for a thrilling experience, head up to Beausoleil Island, one of the many islands of Georgian Bay Islands National Park. And don’t forget to bring those hiking boots.

There’s nothing like taking a stroll or hopping on a bike through Beausoleil Island on a brisk, fall morning. That’s why Parks Canada recommends exploring that part of the island during this changing season.

“Beausoleil Island is magical in the fall. In the north, hike through twisted pines and granite toward cyan-fringed shoreline; or cycle through brilliant deciduous woodland in the south. Immerse fully in an idyllic island autumn,” states the site.

Not only will cycling help you explore the island to the fullest degree but it’ll help you cover more ground as it’s the largest island in the national park. Bring your bike or rent one. Bike rentals are available at the Cedar Spring Visitor Centre on Beausoleil Island for adult riders.

If you plan to ride, the Huron, Christian and Georgian trails are open to all for cycling.

“The Huron and Christian trails offer a very pleasant ride through mature forest, while the Georgian trail is a more difficult challenge with technical, rocky sections,” share Parks Canada. “These trails also provide access to most other trails in the park.”

Rather go for a walk? There are 12 trails on the island from short walks to the most rugged hikes. Click here to read up on all the hiking trails.

While you’re there, check out all the exciting things to do on the island. Besides, it’s about a three-hour drive from Toronto so it’s the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
