Heritage Park is turning the clock back this September for GEMS JAM, an 18+ night inspired by the glamour and energy of the Roaring Twenties. The event will take over the park after dark with unlimited midway rides, food, and more to explore throughout the evening. And once the outdoor festivities wrap up, the party will continue at the Gasoline Alley Museum with a late-night after-party.

Now let’s take a closer look at everything happening during the event.

What to expect at GEMS JAM

What is GEMS JAM?

GEMS JAM is a new 18+ event at Heritage Park that is inspired by the Roaring Twenties, with guests encouraged to dress up and get into the theme for the night. According to Heritage Park, the event centres around the park’s Midway, where you can enjoy unlimited rides, play games, and watch live performances throughout the evening.

Who is performing?

Country artists Devin Cooper and Mariya Stokes will headline the night, with additional live entertainment and buskers performing throughout the Midway.

What else can I do while I’m there?

You can also check out the Ride to Remember: Antique Motorcycle Show ‘N Shine, which will feature bikes from 1999 and earlier, ranging from beautifully restored classics to older motorcycles with plenty of history. The showcase is also raising money for the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, with 100 per cent of its silent auction proceeds and donations going directly to the organization.

What is the After After Party?

Once the Midway closes at 11 p.m., GEMS JAM will move indoors to Gasoline Alley Museum for the After After Party. The after-party will take place among the vintage vehicles inside the museum, giving you a completely different setting for the final part of the night.

Do I have to dress up for the event?

No, dressing up isn’t required, but Heritage Park is encouraging guests to embrace the 1920s theme. Think suits, suspenders, feathers, pearls, or anything else that gives your outfit a vintage feel.

Will there be food and drinks?

Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event, including classic Midway fare and alcoholic beverages. They aren’t included with your ticket, so you’ll need to purchase anything you want separately.

What should I bring with me?

Since the event is 18+, bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Most of the event takes place outdoors on the Midway, so dress for the weather and bring layers if temperatures are expected to drop later in the evening. The After After Party will move indoors, but you’ll be outside for the majority of the evening.

When is Gems Jam?

GEMS JAM is taking place on Saturday, Sept. 12, and runs into the early hours of Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., and the Midway runs from 7:30 to 11 p.m. After that, the party moves into the Gasoline Alley Museum, which will run until 1 a.m.

Where do I get tickets?

You can buy GEMS JAM tickets through the Heritage Park official website; admission is currently $49.95 per adult. If you’re a Heritage Park Annual Member or a Heritage Club VIP, you can also get 15 per cent off your tickets by contacting guest services.

What does a GEMS JAM ticket include?

Your GEMS JAM ticket includes admission to the event, unlimited midway rides, and live entertainment. Midway games, food, and drinks are available for an additional cost.

How do I get there?

The event is happening at Heritage Park Historical Village in southwest Calgary. If you’re driving, the Park uses ParkPlus for parking, with pay kiosks located throughout the site’s six parking lots. Once you park, the park also has a streetcar that can take you toward the Plaza.

Don’t have a car? Calgary Transit can also get you to Heritage Park. Several routes stop at the foot of the parking lot, which is about a five-minute walk from the park entrance.

Your options include:

  • Route 402, which runs from Heritage CTrain Station and operates seasonally from May through October
  • Route 20, which runs between Heritage Station and Northmount Drive.
  • MAX Teal Rapid Transit Bus
  • MAX Yellow Rapid Transit Bus

You can also walk or bike to the park using the Glenmore Reservoir Pathway, with bike racks available near the Railway Café.

Since GEMS JAM starts at 7:30 p.m., give yourself enough time to park, as the lots can get busy during events.
