17th Ave is hosting FREE movies and music in Tomkins Park until September 21

Summer on 17th has been pretty darn happening. All summer long, 17th Ave BIA has been hosting fun (and free) events and activations. And they are ensuring that we end summer on an equally entertaining note with their Movie in the Park series.

Starting September 3 until September 21, you can enjoy live music AND watch movies in the park. And you can do it for free!

Every Saturday and Sunday, there will be a family-friendly showing at 3 PM and a date night/girls’ night showing at 6 PM. So, whether you are out with the fam, your significant other or your girl gang, they’ve got you covered.

In fact, they’ve got you covered with more than just movies. Each movie is accompanied by some seriously amazing and on-theme events. With family-friendly movies you can expect science experiments from Telus Spark, an 80’s breakdancing troupe, dancers recreating all of Sandy and Danny’s and Baby and Johnny’s best moves, and a string quartet paying tribute to ABBA.

For couples on a date, there’s an adorable “lovers lane” photo booth. So, you can capture the beautiful moment by cuddling up in the booth. Dreamy, eh?

Coming to the ultimate besties’ night out, 17th Ave still has your back. There are going to be costume contests, hilarious hosts, a wedding singer performing cheesy classics, a burn book confessional-themed photo booth and a fashion show highlighting 17th Ave retailers.

To make matters even better, Tomkins Park happens to be a designated open area park. Meaning, that you can down spiked bevies all you want. They’ve also added 30 new outdoor tables, making it the perfect venue to enjoy a nice picnic with grubs from your fave 17th Ave eateries and cafes.

You can check out the 17th Ave website below for their movie schedule and more deets on all their upcoming events!
