We love all the Stampede indulgence— the food, the drinks, the music, the lights, the crowds and everything else. It is in the post-Stampede days that we realize the toll that indulgence has taken on our minds and bodies. But as we did with the hangover essentials, we’ve got you covered with the post-Stampede detox too. And we have 17th Avenue to thank.
We already know that 17th Ave is hosting some cool events all summer long. After 10 whole days of Stampede-themed activations, Tomkins Park is now hosting a series of events to help you recover from the Stampede exhaustion.
From fun fitness sessions to soothing art classes to soulful classical concerts, there’s plenty to detox your mind and body. Here’s what you can expect—
Sundays, July 17th – August 28th
9:30-10:30AM: Fitness in the park with studios/gyms including GoodLife Fitness and Move
12:30-2:30PM: Classical music in the park featuring groups such as the Calgary Concert Opera, Divas Opera and Palladio Music.

Mondays, July 18th – August 29th
6-8PM: Live music, art classes and more
Wednesdays, July 20th – August 31st
5PM-8PM: Jazz and blues music in the park
Fridays, July 22nd – September 2nd
Live DJ in the park along with drag performances on July 22nd, August 12th and September 2nd
Saturdays, July 23rd – September 3rd
1-4PM: Live music and entertainment in the park
In addition, from September 3rd – 18th, the park will also kick off its outdoor movie nights on Saturdays and Sundays. And just like all other summer activations at 17th Ave, these too are free. So, you need not worry about your post-Stampede detox regime digging a hole in your wallet.
All you have to do is head to Tompkins Park. We’ll see you there!
