June is almost here, which means summer will be underway before you know it and it is officially time to get out and about in Seattle! If you’re trying to stay conscious of spending there’s still plenty of fun to be had around the city without breaking the bank. Here are 15 of the best free & cheap things to do in and around Seattle this June.

Pride in the Park

June is Pride Month in Seattle, and this year marks a big celebration. According to organizers, “Seattle Pride in the Park will feature a can’t-miss lineup of LGBTQIA2S+ performances, a dance-focused stage with an adjacent alcohol garden (21+), food trucks, local nonprofit booths, queer vendors, and more.”

Free 1st Thursday Public Tour

The Washington Park Arboretum hosts free public tours on the first Thursday of each month. So kick off your month walking through seasonal themes, collections plants, and learn about the history of the organization.

Check out a state park for free

You can look forward to free state park entrance this month on June 8th, 9th, and 19th. Keep in mind despite free park entrance you will have to pay for campsites.

Seattle Dragon Boat Festival

In June, you can check out the Seattle Dragon Boat Festival. The free event will have dragon boat races, cultural performances, and local food trucks.

Georgetown Carnival

For one day only, the Seattle neighbourhood will play host to a carnival with a live music, games, and local vendors. It all takes place on June 8th, 2024, in downtown Georgetown.

The free community event will have a wine and beer garden, art, mini golf, as well as JP Patches Memorial Clown Town.

Mariners Value Games

There are several Seattle Mariners Value Games you can catch in June. Tickets for these games start at $10! Don’t forget to try some of the new foods this season.

Juneteenth 2024

Juneteenth is Northwest African American Museum’s opportunity to bring the community together for a celebration of Black freedom and liberation. Curated weekend of programs include the Annual Juneteenth Skate Party on June 15th, and Father’s Day on June 16th with free admission, music, films and a gift for fathers on the holiday.

On Wednesday, June 19th, you can also enjoy free admission for all visitors with exciting community activities for the whole family.

Strawberry Festival

It’s almost time for the Strawberry Festival Weekend in Burien. Falling over Father’s Day weekend, this is a family favourite event that includes a petting zoo on Saturday and car show on Sunday. There will be vendors and live music all weekend.

Fremont Fair

The Fremont Fair is a unique experience that every Seattleite should have. It shares some similarities to Folklife in energy but you can expect to see plenty of colors, art, music, and of course the iconic solstice parade.

Seattle Iranian Festival

Seattle Center Festál presents Seattle Iranian Festival in partnership with Iranian American Community Alliance (IACA). This weekend festival brings together Iranians, Iranian-Americans, non-Iranians in celebration of the culture with poetry, music, food, tea, comedy, and more.

Bonsai Summer Solstice

One of only two nights a year to check out the Pacific Bonsai Museum past 4 pm is for summer solstice. There will be Sound Bathing and Breathing Demos with Mary Clymer at 5 PM, 6 PM & 7 PM, Games/art activities, and food trucks.

Parké Diem

Parké Diem is a Seattle electronic music community tradition, and it’s returning in June. The lineup includes K+Lab, Sporadica, Kaviera, and Torbjorn (among others!).

Gobble Up SLU

The summer version of Gobble UP will be taking place at Lake Union Park. Enjoy the summer weather, an amazing view of the lake, and the chance to shop with over 75 fantastic foodie small businesses and food trucks.

Seattle Pride Parade 2024

Seattle’s 50th annual Pride Month celebration will close out with the annual Seattle Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30 in Westlake Park along 4th Avenue. Head out to see Washington’s largest parade and celebrate the over 250 local and national community groups, nonprofits, and companies.

PrideFest Seattle Center

One of the nation’s biggest Pride Festivals is back, and PrideFest is still 100% free for all. This month, you can follow the parade to the Seattle Center for hundreds of vendors, food and drink options, and entertainment on four stages!
