Attention, cyclists! Downtown Vancouver will soon get its first free Bike Valet service, and it will last all summer long. Whether you’re a spontaneous biker or a daily commuter looking for more storage options, this will definitely make life easier.

The 100-bike-capacity valet will be located beside Vancouver City Centre Skytrain Station on Granville at the corner of Georgia Street. Bikers can officially take advantage of the service starting Monday, June 19th, which will run rain or shine until September 1st.

The valet will operate from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm from Monday to Friday, and from 10 am to 8 pm on weekends.

“A new bike valet service in the heart of the city means you can explore everything downtown Vancouver has to offer knowing your bike is safe and secure,” says Mayor Ken Sim. “Active transportation users will be able to park their wheels for a few minutes or all day and stroll the city centre stress-free knowing their rides are protected.”

Sponsored by Cadillac Fairview and TransLink’s Ride & Shine Program, the Bike Valet will accommodate bikes, e-bikes, scooters, bike trailers, strollers, and other personal mobility devices.

Note that bikes cannot be left overnight, and those left after the service’s operating hours are stored with the Vancouver Police Department.

All Bike Valet users will receive free registration with Project 529, a national bike recovery system, for added security.

So there you have it, Vancouver! Summer is the perfect time to grab your bike and go for a ride, and now you’ll have a secure spot to store it.
