Banff, Alberta is a magical place, with clear standouts like the mountains, trees, and vibrant town—but there’s beauty well beyond the surface.
Located underneath the Fox Hotel and Suites, there is an enchanting grotto inspired by the birthplace of Canada’s national park system—The Cave and Basin.
A beautiful hot spring known to Indigenous Peoples for over 10 thousand years, this thermal pool was not recognized by the government until 1883 when three railway workers happened to stumble upon it.
While you can no longer swim in the waters, it does remain a place to gather and share stories about conservation—however, you can visit an imitation grotto.
If you’re among the many who dream of jumping into the blue lagoon, pack your bags and check yourself in.
Here you can actually go for a swim and lounge on the rocks, as they’ve perfectly recreated the oasis.
The hotel also has a sauna, a fitness room, and is pet-friendly – so get making your reservations.
It’s an incredible destination.
