Toronto’s getting mesmerizing twisted towers with university campus space

New towers are set to join Toronto’s ever-changing skyline. The two towers, called Forma, were unveiled by the world-renowned architect Frank Gehry and will be the tallest Gehry-designed buildings in the world.

“Forma marks a bold, yet timeless masterpiece that will forever impact the way that visitors and residents experience Toronto,” says a press release announcing the new towers.

The buildings will have an iridescent façade and a unique twisting shape, reflecting the colours of the sun and the form of the surrounding buildings.

Forma will occupy 266 to 284 King Street West, not too far from Toronto’s new destination for living, working, dining, and shopping called The Well.

Forma will consist of two residential towers, one of which will be 73 storeys and the other 84 storeys.

In total, the towers will have 2,034 condominiums, as well as commercial and retail spaces and even a new space for OCAD University.

The condos will have sweeping views of the city, as well as “bespoke suite finishes, elevated lifestyle amenities and services, wellness spaces, entertainment lounges, creative coworking spaces and an outdoor terrace,” according to Forma’s website.

The towers won’t be much smaller than the tallest residential building in Canada that’s currently under construction on Yonge Street, which will stand at 95 storeys when it’s complete.
