This winding scenic route is one of Ontario’s prettiest autumn drives

Start the car, friends. If you’re on the hunt for the ultimate fall drive, look no further than the The Forks of the Credit scenic route.

Located in Caledon just 30 minutes outside of Toronto, this road is close to home but the captivating scenery will make you feel like you’re somewhere far away.

The road is full of twists and turns through lush forested canopies that belong in a storybook.

With the rushing Credit River on one side and the majestic Niagara Escarpment on the other, you will want to slow down to fully appreciate the sights.

And you may have no choice but to drive slowly as this road tends to get busy during this time of year.

There’s so much to see and do in the area too, including Forks of the Credit Provincial Park.

Running through the park is the famous Bruce Trail and the atmosphere is so serene that you will feel a world away from the city.

The spot is popular for hiking, fishing, picnicking, and of course, marvelling at the majestic waterfall.

Also nearby is the Belfountain Conservation Area, featuring a suspension bridge above a waterfall, and trails along freshwater springs and limestone cliffs.

The hamlet of Belfountain is a lovely spot to stretch your legs before your journey home.

Here you’ll find a cafe with a patio as well as a few boutiques selling unique artisan items and delicious treats.

Not far from Belfountain is Downey’s Farm in Caledon, which is hosting its annual Pumpkin Fest through the month of October.

Stop by and snap photos in the sea of pumpkins, explore the massive corn maze, and treat yourself to some wholesome autumn fun.

Finally, if you’re in the mood for some R&R, you can get a day pass to the outdoor hot springs at the Millcroft Inn and Spa just a short drive from Belfountain.

Now, doesn’t that sound like the perfect day? Go ahead, grab your pals and make it happen!
