This Ontario hiking trail leads you to an observation platform with a spectacular view

Reach new heights and feast your eyes on scenic vistas at this observation platform in Ontario. All you need is the drive to embark along an exciting hiking trail and your phone to capture that picture-perfect view. Eager to know where your next destination is located? Hop in your car and set your Waze to Fleetwood Creek Natural Area. Here’s what to know.

Head east past Port Perry and you’ll come across this little piece of paradise. Fleetwood Creek Natural Area sprawls across 900 acres of land and is managed by Kawartha Conservation for the Ontario Heritage Foundation, according to Conservation Ontario.

Here you can leash up your dog and take them for a walk, go birding, or hike along the trails. This natural area has three trails to explore; East Forest Trail – 2.5 KM, West Forest Trail – 3 KM, and Valley Trail 2.2 KM.

Since we’re here for the views, head along The Valley Trail, that’s where you’ll find the observation platform. You can spot a beautiful view of the surrounding land.

The Valley trail can be accessed at 902 Ballyduff Road, which is accessible from Highway 35, according to Conservation Ontario.

“A second parking lot on Solanum way, off Porter Road provides access to the East and West trails. Please note that these roads are unassumed, and the parking areas are not maintained from October 31 to May 1.”

They’re open all year long but from May to October, operating hours start at 7 AM and end at 9 PM.

Parking is available and may be subject to a fee. But besides that, you are free to explore the grounds and take those pictures.

If you were looking for your next-day trip, we think you may have found it.
