Looking for somewhere to take your out-of-town guests this holiday season? Impress them with a snowy walk around Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary, a beautiful spot that may look familiar to HBO fans.

Located in the Southern part of the city, Fish Creek is the second-largest urban park in all of Canada – so to say that there’s a lot to see is an understatement!

With over 80 kilometres of pathways and more than 200 species of birds, those looking for something spectacular are in for incredibly scenic views and maybe a run-in with a deer or two.

Stretching 19 km from east to west, Fish Creek runs along the Bow River, where people often fish, paddle and lounge in the summertime.

Luckily, even frozen, it’s a sight to see. In fact, it’s so good-looking that HBO filmed their hit show The Last Of Us here.

As seen in episode 3: Long, Long, Time, main characters Joel and Ellie, can be seen crossing the Shannon Terrace Pedestrian Bridge in the western part of the green space.

In addition to getting some fresh air, those who visit the park can also visit the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant, which serves brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert.

This spot is a far trot (approximately 2 hours) from the TLOU bridge, but is totally worth it for its incredible menu and heating.
