Kick off the start of Alberta ski season with this wicked party in Calgary

It’s almost time to hit the slopes, Alberta! Nov. 1 marks the beginning of ski season.

In Calgary, you can celebrate with all your best buds at a snow and ski-themed party, hosted by Banded Peak Brewing and Lake Louise Ski Resort.

You can expect sizzling fire pits in the Banded beer garden and plenty of other excited skiers in retro snowsuits at the First Tracks Winter Kick Off.

Grab a beer, win some swag, meet some new friends and settle in together to watch one of two ski- and board-themed films.

This outdoor movie screening is the perfect way to unwind over the weekend and kick off the best time of the year.

Prepare yourself to lay down some fresh tracks this season. This event is the ideal way to start things off on the right foot.

What to expect

Ready to celebrate some fresh powder on the mountains?

At this kickoff party in Calgary, you can do it in style with all your friends, and meet some new ones too.

Each ticket purchased will help support Avalanche Canada, a non-government, not-for-profit organization dedicated to public avalanche safety.

They’re the ones keeping you safe out there on the slopes, so you know your money will support a good cause, with funds funnelled back into the community.

An early showing of Carving Space from Peak Performance, and Paved from Burton x Red Bull Media will screen at 6:45 p.m., with doors open at 6 p.m.

The late show is presented by Sundance Sky and Snowboard. It’ll include One Step Ahead from Blank Collective and The Edge of Reason from Cody Townsend.

$25 will get you access to both films, while a $15 ticket includes your first beverage and access to one film.

This will definitely get you excited to start gaining some speed on the ski season.

It’s almost time to hit the slopes — let’s party!
