These Canadian tech companies are among the fastest-growing in North America

Canada’s tech sector is growing fast, really fast. Deloitte’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing North American companies in the tech and media scene, is out. And Canada made the top 50.

The North America Technology Fast 500 list is out, highlighting big tech names in both the U.S and Canada. According to Deloitte, awardees are selected based on “percentage fiscal year revenue growth” from 2018 to 2021. The list looked at companies in technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech sectors.

Overall, the 2022 Technology Fast 500 companies achieved revenue growth ranging from 241% to 125,138% over three years. That’s a lot in the span of three years.

Though Canada did not make it to the top 10, it did make the top 50. Victoria B.C’s Certn in the software and services industry came in 24th place, but first for Canada.

Bloom Care Solutions Inc., a life sciences industry company in Vaughan came in 26th, and Mistplay, another software and services industry company came in 31st.

As for cities like Vancouver and Toronto, a handful of its companies made the top 100 which is a pretty big win for the Great White North. Alphawave IP in Toronto made 65th place, Mississauga’s Stromcore Energy in 66th, and Toronto’s Clutch in 67th.

Check out the top 100 for Ontario below:

There’s no surprise that our Canadian cities are getting recognized in the tech scene. Toronto was recently named one of the best digital cities in the world, and was the first Canadian city mentioned in CBRE’s annual Scoring Tech Talent list.

And that’s not to mention all the Canadian cities that made CBRE’s Tech-30 report, analyzing the tech industry’s impact in North America.

Though we may not be at the very top of the list, we still managed to rank pretty high and that’s a big accomplishment. Congrats to all those to ranked!
