Ice Dragon Boat Festival
With a ‘pass the poutine contest,’ a beer garden and sleigh rides, Sylvan Lake’s Ice Dragon Boat Races kicks off this long weekend! This Family Day weekend, check out Alberta’s favourite Lake Town for a series of exciting events, fun activities and fresh air.

Alberta Museums
We love free! This long weekend, families will be able to learn from and explore some of Alberta’s very best and brightest spots for FREE! From the Royal Alberta Museum to the Lougheed House, the province will be offering free admission on Family Day.

Penguin Walk

For the 12th year in a row, check out the Calgary Zoo for its spectacular Penguin Walk! This event is weather permitting, so make sure you check out their website before heading out!

SPACE: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond
Aptly named SPACE: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond, Spark’s new exhibit will feature beautiful effects and stunning visuals. From the Apollo 11 lunar landing to constellations, attendees are in for an immersive experience that will feel as though they’re really exploring star clusters and planets – a dream of any jr. astronomer.

Calgary Flames vs. Winnipeg Jets
Toss on a jersey and head over to the Saddledome where you’re encouraged to grab a pocket dog and a beer, then cheer the Flames to victory when they take on the Philidelphia Flyers. For their tickets head to the link above.
