Toronto is getting a massive new racket club with 13 pickleball courts

Canada’s premiere public racket club, Fairgrounds, is opening a massive new location in the city this spring. Leaside, get ready to play pickleball!

What they’re calling its “most ambitious location yet,” Fairgrounds will take over the former Mercedes-Benz dealership at Bayview and Eglinton. It plans to transform the facility that supports social interaction, athletic development and, of course, enjoyment.

What to expect at the new location

Fans of the padelled sport will get to enjoy 13 pickleball courts, along with four padel spaces. Though you can enjoy some friendly gameplay, visitors will have the chance to do much more.

Let’s dive into what it will have. The pickleball club will feature :

  • Designed courts with stadium-style seating for tournaments
  • Community-focused play for drop-in games, memberships, and social activations
  • Player-improvement programming for available coaching, clinics and beginner leagues
  • New expanded membership models
  • A holistic wellness space with a sauna and cold rinse showers
  • Kids’ Programming and family play
  • Retail store with equipment, apparel, and lifestyle goods
  • There will be a lounge and dining area with a rotating menu of hyper-local culinary experiences

“Our goal was to create an easy meeting place for people to experience the best part of their week,” says Emily Robin. “We believe the spatial experience sets the tone for players—welcoming, accessible, unpretentious and, most importantly, fun.”

Since its initial opening in Toronto back in 2022, Fairgrounds has opened four locations across the city. As for the opening date of its newest location, that has yet to be disclosed. Just expect an opening sometime in May 2025.

We can’t wait!
