We’re only 8 days into 2021 and a lot has happened. And now we’re hearing word that Seattle might be getting an NBA team again! But just wait until you hear this, it’s our OG team the Seattle Sonics. Can you believe it?
Mayor Jenny Durkan recently spoke to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and is feeling optimistic that we could be seeing the return of the Seattle Sonics. And if this is news to you, basically the NBA is re-examining expansion prospects. Luckily for us, Seattle is at the top of that list.

But before you get too excited, there’s a lot that goes into placing a team. After all, the franchise has to approve and so do the owners of said team. So while this is exciting it will be a while before we know anything for sure. But with all that in mind, Seattle is well positioned to welcome the NBA back to our city.
