One of our favourite parts of summertime is all the great eats that come with it. It seems that as soon as the sun comes out, Toronto’s food scene ramps things up to 100. Even amidst the craziness of the past few months, this year is no different. We’re more than pumped for all the great spots this city’s got in store.

Here are 8 new and exciting restaurants and food events opening in or returning to Toronto this summer.

GRAND BIZARRE BEACHSIDE RESTAURANT

Last summer saw the beginnings of this awesome outdoor spot, and this weekend they are back in full fledge. Relax by the pool, listen to live music, and indulge in a killer menu created by Celebrity Chef Rob Rainford. The spot is sporting all the best summer vibes and it’s about to officially launch for the season. We don’t know about you, but we’re booking a reservation here ASAP!

STREET EATS NIGHT MARKET

Who hasn’t been eagerly waiting for the beginning of the Street Eats Night Market? After a little delay thanks to COVID-19 restrictions, the event is going to back in business as of Friday, June 18th. Stop by for late night eats from all the best local vendors. The entire thing is set up to be enjoyed from a safe social distance, so slap on that mask and hit the road.

Speaking of COVID-19 safe vendor events, who else is ready for the Toronto Ribfest? The drive-thru occasion is hitting Toronto from July 1st-3rd with all their usual iconic eats. Stop by and feast on ribs, ribs, and more ribs at the annual outdoor event. This awesome occasion has been a Toronto staple for over 20 years!

DAHLIA BY MOTHER

One of your favourite cocktail bars is holding a delicious pop-up event all summer long. Introducing Dahlia by Mother, the all-Mexican inspired pop-up you will not want to miss. Stop by to enjoy one (or all) of 5 drinks put together with expert craftsmanship. They’ll be open every day this summer except Mondays.

When you pay them a visit, you’ll be indulging in one of the best beer gardens this city’s got to offer. Nothing like a cold one on a hot summer day!

ICE BLIZZARD WIZARD

Speaking of cold, refreshing treats in the summer, you’ve got to check out this new ice cream truck concept. The local business is taking the idea of an ice cream truck and making it accessible, by delivering soft serve wherever you are. They’re perfect for outdoor gatherings (now that those are somewhat allowed) and special occasions!

Don’t just dip into this next pick, drive right in. Hot Dip is the new Toronto spot serving delicious and hardy eats. They’ve got an incredible menu of indulgent sandwiches, that you get to order and dip in their special sauce. Fair warning – you’ll want to have some napkins on hand when you give this new spot a try!

BULLSEYE BURGERS & FRIES

Last but not least we’ve got a brand new burger joint that’s already making waves. You’ll definitely want to add this joint to you summer must-try list. The spot is serving, you guessed it, burgers and fries. With quality ingredients and all kinds of toppings available, there’s never a dull moment here.
