First, it was an auto repair shop, and then it was a very impressive location for a Keg Restaurant. Now, the 109-year-old Scona Garage in Edmonton is entering a new era, and one fit for the 21st century. Here’s a little information on what’s happening.
Edmonton’s own Beljan Development has started the process of transforming the brick building into both a hotel and retail spaces. The retail stuff (coffee shops, stores and hopefully a brewery) will be on the main level, while the upper level is a hotel and short-term rentals.

Located just off Whyte Ave, the development will only add to the amenities in the area. Personally, we’re looking forward to a new brewery to try out, whenever the project is actually completed. But work has only recently begun, so this might be an exercise in patience.
But, Beljan has a solid track record of revitalizing Edmonton’s historic buildings, so we know it’ll be worth the wait!
