Earth Day is on Monday, April 22nd, a day to reflect on the planet we call home and how we can take care of it. There are a handful of festivities happening around Toronto in celebration of the big day. Here’s what to expect.

Community clean-ups

Why not get involved and do your part this Earth Day?

The City of Toronto has organized a series of community cleanups from Friday, April 19th – Monday, April 22nd.

Find one near you here.

Cost: Free

Earth Day at the Brick Works

Evergreen Brick Works has put together Earth Day programming that’s fun for all ages.

A clothing swap, market, book swap, film screening and nature play are just a few things happening!

When: Saturday, April 20th from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Where: Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Ave
Cost: Free

Sheraton Candle Making Workshop 

Head over to Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel for something fun this Earth Day.

The hotel is putting on a two-hour Earth Day workshop in the lobby and will use beeswax from the hotel’s own honeybees.

The workshop is $25 and is presented in partnership with Alvéole, the Sheraton’s dedicated bee-care partner.

Goldhawk Park Earth Day tree planting

Another way to give back to our planet!

Goldhawk Park is welcoming everyone to come and help plant native trees and shrubs to create a new forested area in the park.

Individuals and small groups do not need to register and are welcome to attend.

When: Monday, April 22nd from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Goldhawk Park, Sadlee Cove Crescent entrance
Cost: Free

Earth Day at Downsview Park 

Downsview Park is holding a free, family-friendly day of festivities in celebration of our planet on April 23rd.

Some of the events taking place include tree planting, guided nature walks, scavenger hunts and more.

When: Sunday, April 28th from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Where: Downsview Park, 70 Canuck Ave
Cost: Free
