This Ontario park is known for its spectacular sunsets & autumn valleys

It’s time to head eastbound and enjoy some fall fun. Driftwood Provincial Park has a stretch of sandy shores with a secluded beach and hiking trails with panoramic autumn valley views.

Just before reaching the border of Quebec, you’ll find Driftwood Provincial Park, northwest of Ottawa and about five hours away from Toronto.

And luckily for you, you can camp here well into the fall.

According to Ontario Parks, Ottawa Campground is the larger campground with two-thirds of the park’s campsites located here.

However, if you don’t plan on camping at Driftwood Provincial Park, you can still enjoy its amenities to the fullest degree.

Activities available include biking on main park roads, birding, canoeing, and boating on the Ottawa River.

Ontario Parks says that Driftwood is known for its spectacular sunsets and trails, which are especially beautiful as the leaves transform into shades of orange, red, and gold.

There are two trails to enjoy. The Chevrier Creek Trails are composed of four loops that vary from 1.3 km to 3.7 km.

The Oak Highland Trail features a 1 km riverview loop and 2.5 km beaver pond loop. For that lookout shot, you’ll want to embark on the latter.

The Oak Highland Trail guides you to a steep climb that ends with a viewpoint offering panoramic sights of the Ottawa River.

Be sure to time this trek to arrive during golden hour — you won’t regret it!
