A classic Seattle tradition will be illuminating Westlake Center once again this year. You’ll be able to join over 10,000 people for the annual post-Thanksgiving tree lighting celebration to kick off the holiday season. It’s an age-old Seattle tradition that you don’t want to miss.

Well, ‘age-old’ is relative but tree lighting ceremonies have been happening around the city for decades. From the world’s tallest Christmas tree to Green Lake’s own tree lighting celebration, Seattle knows how to raise a tree. And Westlake’s celebration is modern-day proof of that.

Rain or shine you’ll be able to watch as the tree turns on and fills Westlake Center with a brilliant display of light and color. Then you’ll be able to watch as the iconic Macy’s star comes to life with its eye-popping, fireworks-framed sparkle. Bellow all the holiday lights you’ll find the DSA’s beloved carousel.
