Downtown Banff just got a brand new Arc’teryx location

There’s a new place to shop in Banff, with global outerwear and equipment design company Arc’teryx opening up a store in the mountain town.

The new store is along the bustling Banff Avenue and opened over the weekend on April 12.

It spans nearly 4,100 square feet and has a distinctive curved storefront with a welcoming porch and window bench, perfect for taking a second to step back and relax and take in Banff’s surroundings while shopping around town.

Some other unique features of the Banff store include the ReBIRD Service Centre which is a one-stop-shop for product care, repair, and education. Guests can bring in their product to learn how to wash and look after it, repair minor tears and holes, and get larger-scale problems assessed and sent out for repair.

The Gear Library will offer a curated collection of in-season products that visitors can trial and explore, from ski jackets and bib pants to hiking shells and insulation. The Maker’s Table Space will let guests lay down their full outfit, understand the system of dress, and really get hands-on with what they are looking at buying.

“Arc’teryx has had enduring ties to Banff, outfitting athletes, guides, and SAR professionals in the Bow Valley for decades. It’s a place we come to push ourselves and find peace in the mountains,” said Delaney Schweitzer, chief commercial officer at Arc’teryx.

“Through our longstanding wholesale and pro partners, we’ve built deep community ties in the town, and we’re so excited to deepen our connection with the opening of our first Banff brand retail store. This store has been thoughtfully designed to support our community, creating a place for connection, enablement and skill building in the mountains we love.”

Arc’teryx was founded in 1989 and has since grown to more than 160 stores worldwide.
