We hope you’re hungry, Vancouver, because an exciting new spot for upscale Asian fusion plates is coming to Kitsilano. And the concept is by the founders of the city’s beloved poke chain, Pokey Okey!
Leading the team is Northwest Culinary Alumnus Victor He, who spent several years cooking in restaurants across Asia, including Michelin-starred Bo Shanghai.
After returning to Canada and co-founding Pokey Okey, He is ready to introduce Kitsilano to various dishes inspired by his heritage, according to a release.
“A great deal of effort, heart, and soul was infused into this project and we are incredibly excited to share it with you,” says He.

In addition to amazing food, Don Restaurant has created a dining atmosphere that’s both “luxurious” and “inviting.” In fact, the spot was handbuilt and designed by the founders themselves – and the feature wall is an “expression of their personalities,” as well as that of their families.
As the restaurant is not currently on socials, additional details are on the DL for now. But in an email to Curiocity, the restaurant shares that it will open its doors in February of this year.
So, mark your calendars & get excited, Vancouver! We’ll see you there.
