We hope you’re hungry, Toronto because something big is coming – in fact, it’s the BIGGEST.

With over 550 locations all over the U.S. and the world, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, the largest Texas-style barbecue concept in the world, has announced that it will be opening its first Toronto location this spring.

The chain opened its first Ontario location in Ottawa last month and is gearing up to open in Toronto on Thursday, April 20th.

Best known for serving Texas-style brisket, wings, ribs, pulled pork, and saucy sandwiches with a selection of sides like waffle fries, coleslaw, and baked beans, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is an American staple and is sure to amass quite the following on the northern side of the border.

All of the barbecued meats are smoked onsite in a hickory wood-burning pit to provide that delicious and authentic barbecue taste. All of the sides are described as “No B.S.,” which means no bad stuff included.

“Toronto has an amazing dining scene, but it lacks a true, authentic barbecue experience, which we can’t wait to provide,” said the CEO of Dickey’s in the announcement.

“We look forward to introducing our tastes of Texas to Toronto and more Canadians across the country.”

The Toronto restaurant will soon open its doors in the downtown core at Yonge and Carlton.

Until then, we’ll be daydreaming about sauce-smothered barbecue and crispy fries.
