Want to pick up a new sport this spring? Decathlon is sure to have the sporting goods you’ll need – and better yet, the brand is about to get a new two-storey flagship store in Metrotown where shoppers can find it all.
On the heels of its successful pop-up location at Metropolis in Metrotown, Decathlon is officially laying down its roots with its first permanent BC location, which boasts 38,000 square feet.
What’s more, the new space will mark the first in Canada to showcase Decathlon’s new brand identity, which was revealed this month to encompass a strong commitment to sustainability.
“Our overarching vision for Decathlon—our North Star—is to move people through the wonders of sport,” says Guillaume Hautson, regional manager of British Columbia for Decathlon. “Opening our flagship store at Metropolis at Metrotown will help us reach a wider, more diverse audience, ultimately connecting even more people to the benefits of movement and the outdoors and proudly bringing the Decathlon experience coast to coast.”

According to Decathlon, the new store will be divided into separate zones for each sport or outdoor activity, including hiking, camping, trekking, winter sports, cycling, and water sports – to name a few.
Some standout features include a year-round hiking and camping showroom with tents, gear, and accessories, as well as a workshop for bike tune-ups and kayak, and paddleboard repairs.
There will also be play zones for table tennis, tetherball, and other sports.
Finally, visitors can expect to shop against the backdrop of a beautiful mural painted by local artist Andrew McGuir, which showcases athletes from all walks of life amid iconic Vancouver landmarks.
The new flagship store will officially open its doors near the Grand Court on April 27th, so mark your calendars!
For now, the Decathlon pop-up is still operating from 10 am to 9 pm every day except Sunday, when it closes at 7 pm.
So there you have it, Vancouver! With thriving outdoor & fitness communities here in BC, we can only imagine what this new flagship location has in store.
