The reviews are rolling in and it looks like Toronto is off to a great start. Barstool prez and famed pizza taste-tester Dave Portnoy has reviewed his first Canadian pie and it’s safe to say that he was impressed.

Portnoy’s first stop on his Toronto pizza tour was North of Brooklyn Pizzeria, a beloved spot with five locations and counting.

He chose the Queen St West location for his review and stood in front of the restaurant’s outdoor signage for the video.

Upon first inspection, Portnoy was already impressed with the look of the pizza.

“If we are judging a book by its cover, this is a fantastic book,” he said, calling it a “very good looking pizza.”

Then, after taking a bite, he said he “might be starting with the best one.”

He gave the pie a stellar score of 8.4. “This can go basically toe to toe with any pizza I’ve ever eaten, it’s that good,” he said.

“Great, great, great pizza,” he added. Well, it’s safe to say that North of Brooklyn just raised the bar for everyone else.

According to Portnoy, this is the first of “nearly 15” pizza places on his list while he’s in Toronto. Let the games begin.
