These first date ideas in Toronto are sure to win someone over

Dating is hard in Toronto, and planning dates is just as hard. If you’re on your dating game right now, then you know that it can be a challenge to plan something fun because while the main attraction is you, you still want to have fun and impress the other person.

I’ve come up with a few ideas, so feel free to steal one and claim it as your own; I don’t mind ;).

Pick up a cheese board from Good Cheese

Good Cheese, located in the city’s east end, makes some of the best charcuterie boards around.

You can place an order for pick up, then walk over to Riverdale Park to catch a sunset.

This one is weather-dependent, but a sure-fire way to win someone over.

Discounted martinis

Okay, I’m biased because Martine’s is where my boyfriend and I went on our first date, but there’s your proof that it’s a great spot: he’s still my boyfriend.

Nestled at the corner of Palmerston and College, martinis are only $10 on Monday nights. Do with that information what you will.

Learn to play pickleball

As someone who started playing pickleball this year, it’s so much fun to play as a date.

Fairgrounds has multiple locations in Toronto, so pick your spot and book your time slot. Your date will love how prepared you are, trust me.

Cooking class at Eataly

Did you know Eataly does cooking classes?

There are tons to choose from, including tiramisu, pasta, and pizza.

Learn to make something yummy, and then you can show off your skills another time (hello, second date!).

Escape room and drinks at Casa Loma

Casa Loma has a whole section dedicated to escape rooms. If you haven’t been before, they’re super fun and a hilarious way to break the ice.

When you’re done, walk over to Casa Loma’s BlueBlood Steakhouse for drinks. You don’t need to get a meal, just grab a spot at the bar and enjoy a post-escape beverage.
