Drone captures Cirque du Soleil from the roof of BC Place & the footage is jaw-dropping (VIDEO)

To celebrate the return of arts & entertainment events in BC, Cirque du Soleil staged a breathtaking, exclusive performance from the roof of BC Place. That’s right, the roof. Mic drop. Jaw drop. All the drops.

A drone operator and camera crew captured the performance featuring the talented acrobats of Alegría and 360-degree views of False Creek and downtown Vancouver. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then we’re about a million short. Okay let’s face it, we lost count after the first couple of photos…

The iconic white-domed rooftop of BC Place can be seen peeking out between the powerful choreography, as the performers toss each other into the air and tumble across the roof.

“Vancouver has always been very supportive of Cirque du Soleil, which is why we chose the city as our first Canadian tour stop,” says Artistic Director of Alegría Michael Smith. Vancouverites have been flocking to Concord Pacific Place to experience the magic of a Cirque show since the group returned from their two-year hiatus last month.

Smith said that bringing happiness and live entertainment to stages across the country has already been a rewarding experience.

Royce Chwin, President and CEO of Destination Vancouver, said that “the return of arts and cultural events like Alegría is essential for reanimating the city and giving people back the shared experiences that we’ve all been missing.” We wholeheartedly agree.

Ready to see a show? Alegría is performing under the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place until June 5th. For the inside scoop on shows and tickets, be sure to check out their website and socials.

Feast your eyes, Vancouver!
