BC’s first multi-sensory movie experience just launched at Metrotown

Movie lovers, you’ll definitely want to head to Cineplex Metropolis sometime soon, because an exciting multi-sensory experience is expanding to select theatres across Canada.

Cineplex has partnered with CJ 4DPLEX to launch the province’s first 4DX auditorium at Metropolis in Metrotown starting Thursday, December 15th, which means you won’t have to wait long (or at all) to experience 4DX movies for yourself.

Multi-sensory technology

The 4DX experience gives viewers the ability to fully immerse themselves in the film they’re watching by utilizing all of their senses, including touch, sight, sound, and smell.

“The state-of-the-art technology that CJ 4DPLEX has masterfully created brings a true and incomparable escape into the magical world of cinema that you have to see, hear, feel and smell to believe,” says Kevin Watts, Executive Vice President, Exhibition & LBE, Cineplex. “It is a real thrill to bring 4DX to our guests in Burnaby and the surrounding Metro Vancouver area, especially just in time for the busy holiday season when we all look forward to visiting the theatres with family and friends.”

The cinematic experience at Cineplex Metropolis will debut with Avatar: The Way of Water.

So, head to Cineplex Metropolis this month and check out the new film tech for yourself.

In addition to on-screen visuals, viewers will have access to synchronized motion seats, and experience environmental effects like water, wind, snow, fog, and much more. And for anyone who’s seen Avatar, you know that you’re in for quite a ride as it is.
