8 festive Christmas markets to visit in Toronto this holiday season

Christmas markets are taking over Toronto and I am THRILLED about it.

It’s the time of year to bundle up and head over to one of the city’s many markets for food, warm beverages, shopping and views of the most stunning holiday decor you’ve ever seen.

Whether it’s for a date night, an evening with the fam or an outing with friends, you need to add a stop at one (or all) of these Christmas markets in Toronto this festive season.

The Distillery Winter Village

This one is a given. The Distillery Winter Village is the largest in Toronto, featuring shopping vendors, live music, delicious treats and a massive decked-out Dior Christmas tree.

The market is open every day at 10 a.m and is free Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until Dec. 16.

There is also free entry every day before 4 p.m. with tickets required after 4 p.m. every Thursday to Sunday and every day from Dec. 12 to 31.

Tickets cost $15 for general admission.

When: Open from now until Jan. 5, 2025

Cost: Free – $15 per person

Holiday Hills

Stackt Market is putting on a little Christmas market of their own and it’s super cute.

Holiday Hills will have a 100-foot-long light tunnel, cocktails, yummy bites and live performances all with the CN Tower as the backdrop!

Admission is free, too.

When: Open from now until Dec. 29, 2024
Where: 28 Bathurst St
Cost: Free

Evergreen Brick Works Winter Market

This market will feature over 60 local vendors selling treasures like jewellery, clothing and home decor on Sundays from Dec. 1 until Dec. 22, 2024.

Food trucks will be on-site serving up snacks and drinks so make sure to show up hungry.

When: Sundays from Dec. 1 to Dec. 22, 2024
Where: 550 Bayview Ave
Cost: Free

Holiday Fair in the Square

“Stroll through the stalls of the artisan marketplace, warm up in the Fireside Lounge while sipping a hot chocolate or mulled wine and toasting your very own s’more, or enjoy a visit with Santa himself,” shares Holiday Fair in the Square.

Free to enjoy, this Christmas market is happening in Mel Lastman Square from Dec. 6 to 23, 2024.

Winter Glow

This downtown Christmas market will feature a massive ferris wheel!

Running Dec. 5 to Dec. 22, Winter Glow will take over the former Yonge-Dundas Square with carnival rides, midway games, delicious treats, holiday music and twinkling light displays.

Sounds like a perfect holiday date night is ahead.

Cost: Free admission / ride tickets $6 each

The Great Hall Holiday Artisan Market

The holiday spirit is alive and well at The Great Hall!

Artisan vendors, holiday music and snacks – it’s really all you need to feel jolly.

This Christmas market is just ONE DAY so don’t miss out!

Cost: Free

Botanical Gardens Holiday Market

This Christmas market has a special twist.

The Toronto Botanical Garden Holiday Market is eco-minded and nature-inspired. Not only will there be local vendors, but also an outdoor fire pit, food trucks, live entertainment and Christmas decor photo opportunities.

Entry is free!

Cost: Free

Hogtown Flea Holiday Market

You’ll be sure to find a holiday treasure for you or a loved one at this funky holiday market.

Happening for just two days, you can shop over 40 vendors selling vintage clothing and accessories, homewares, books and vinyl, handmade jewelry, ceramics/glassware, bath and body, and pantry goods.

Talk about the ultimate place to find gifts.
