Canada Place
Christmastime is here, and Canada Place has a lineup of festivities to make your holidays merry and bright.
The annual Christmas at Canada Place, presented by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, runs until January 1, 2025, and will feature all sorts of events to get you and your family in the Yuletide spirit, from astounding light displays to cozy toy set-ups.
Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or that special someone, here are the four main attractions that you surely don’t want to miss.
Take a stroll down this sparkling promenade to discover the most beautifully decorated trees in Downtown Vancouver. This is an especially fun display, as each tree has a unique theme and is custom-designed and created by local professionals. Which tree will be your favourite? You won’t know until you go!
The Woodward’s Windows display has been a staple in Christmas at Canada Place for more than 20 years, with origins at Woodward’s Department Store in the 90s. If that doesn’t evoke a sense of nostalgia, the whimsical designs reminiscent of childhood holidays certainly will.
Canada PlaceJourney to the North Point of Canada Place to experience Canada’s North Light Display — a series of twinkling lights against the backdrop of the North Shore. And be sure to say hello to their new light-sculpture, Luna the Orca.. Does it get any more Canadian than that?
Standing tall and proud above the festivities are the Sails of Light, which will be lit in red and green every night throughout the festival for an extra touch of holiday cheer.
The event is open until January 1 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day. That includes Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day!
Best of all, Christmas at Canada Place is free, so be sure to bring the whole family and go as much as you’d like. After all, Christmas comes but once a year. Make the most of it with merriment and cheer!
