Cheetos’ iconic orange dust has an official name & there’s even a statue to commemorate it

People, here’s a very important ‘the more you know’ moment. There’s an interesting addition to the dictionary— Cheetle. And we’re here to tell you what that means.

You know that iconic orange dust your fingertips are covered in when snacking on your all-time fave snack, aka, Cheetos? The very same dust that true Cheetos fans have always known is a badge of honour? Well, that orange dust is called Cheetle.

According to the official definition, “Cheetle is the brand name for the powdery residue that gets on your fingertips while eating the savoury cheese snack, Cheetos®.” Pretty cool, huh?

But don’t be too impressed just yet. There’s more!

The Cheetos brand is paying homage to Cheetle-dusted fingertips with an actual monument. Enter: The Cheetle Hand Statue. Wow, indeed!

And as if things needed to be any more epic, Cheadle, Alberta, is home to this statue, because where else could the Cheetos brand honour Cheetle, if not in a hamlet that sounds just like it?

The only not-so-great part is that the statue will only be there for four weeks. Because, well, all good things must come to an end. So, for all you Cheetos fans in the house, if you want to check out this legendary statue IRL, we suggest you head there away.

And don’t forget – if you stop by, make sure to share your photos with the statue on social media by tagging @cheetoscanada and using #CheetleinCheadle and #ItsaCheetosThing. Time for a snack!
