Who doesn’t love spring? It’s the time of year when we all come out of winter hibernation and get our butts moving again. It’s almost like we thaw and limber up for all the fun spring activities. And we are looking forward to this spring even more than ever after coming out of what feels like a lifetime in isolation! To celebrate the season in a fun and unique way, our friends over at Canadian Tire have left a massive 5-foot frozen ice cube on the side of The Bentway!

We honestly can’t think of anything more symbolic than a giant ice block melting to signify the transition from Canadian winter to spring! This natural countdown is a visual reminder to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather! The warmer weather definitely inspires us to play our favourite sports or just hang in a park tossing a ball around- and you best believe we’re heading to Canadian Tire to grab our gear for the season!

As you pass by The Bentway you may also notice something frozen in the middle of the giant ice cube. It’s pretty much the most iconic symbol of spring and summer in Ontario. Can you guess what it is? We don’t want to spoil it for you but it does rhyme with Buskoka chair. Ok that’s not a word, but we’re just so darn excited to watch this behemoth ice block melt because then we can officially say peace out to winter!
