With the start of a new month and the last couple of weeks of winter, it’s time to turn our attention to the season ahead and all that comes with it. Between new art exhibits, cultural performances like the Coastal Dance Festival, and other upcoming live events across the city, there are tons to do and see. At UBC’s Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, multiple globally recognized artists and speakers are on their way to the stage
With a concert hall, black box theatre, and cinema, the centre is internationally renowned for its top-notch acoustics and beautiful design. Since opening in 1997, it has hosted artists, critics, and audiences, quickly becoming one of North America’s premier performing arts centres.
Past performers and guest speakers include Jeremy Dutcher, Oumou Sangaré, Jon Batiste, and Anoushka Shankar, with even more big names on the way.
From Grammy-nominated musicians to An Evening with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Maria Ressa, here’s just a taste of what’s coming to the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (6265 Crescent Rd.) this spring:
