If you’re looking to make some weekend plans that involve bikes and tasty treats, consider stopping by the first-ever Car-Free Day Surrey, a free community festival presented by Translink! This event will transform 137th Street into a “pedestrian paradise” on Saturday, June 11th.

Come hungry and expect a ton of food trucks, artisan vendors, and multiple stages for live performances. Businesses with storefronts on 137th will have extended patios and booths to accommodate a variety of family-friendly activities.

Live performers include Canadian musician and voice actress Ashleigh Ball, Vernon-based daysormay, and the all-female Vancouver powerhouse group, NADUH. You can view the full entertainment lineup here.

In terms of commuting, guests are strongly encouraged to take the bus, train, or arrive by bike. Given the title and nature of the festival, the event organizers will not be offering any additional parking.

The festival will take place between 72A and 74th Avenue from noon until 8 pm. Note that street closure will be in effect from 5 am to 12 am the day of.
