If you’re looking to make some weekend plans that involve bikes and tasty eats, consider stopping by the first-ever Car-Free Day Surrey, a free community festival presented by Translink and the Newton BIA. Come hungry and expect a ton of food trucks, artisan vendors, and multiple stages for live performances.
This event is slated to transform 137th Street into a “pedestrian paradise” on Saturday, June 10th, so get ready to enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities via a mix of extended patios and booths.

Guests can expect to enjoy live performances, arts and crafts, face painting, mini golf, and much more – and all for free!
In terms of commuting, guests are strongly encouraged to take the bus, train, or arrive by bike. Given the title and nature of the festival, the event organizers will not be offering any additional parking.
The festival will take place between 72A and 74th Avenue from noon until 8 pm. Note that street closure will be in effect from 5 am to 12 am the day of.
