All aboard! This winter season, you can take a ride through Candy Cane Lane on Santa’s sleigh.
The holiday spirit will be alive in the Crestwood neighbourhood. Here, you can see all the beautiful lights adorning houses and yards for the holidays, right in Edmonton’s Candy Cane Lane. This tradition has been alive for over 50 years, and each year it continues to shine brighter.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the magic of Candy Cane Lane. You are encouraged to respectfully enjoy the lights and decorations as residents set up, make, and buy all of their own displays.
From Dec. 12 to Jan. 2, you can stroll along the streets and gaze at the beautiful displays. You can also bring food for the Edmonton Food Bank in support of the street and support the people in need. Candy Cane Lane is not only a holiday tradition for many in Edmonton, but a critical event for Edmonton’s Food Bank.
There are also Open Street nights. On Dec. 13 and 23, Candy Cane Lane will be closed to cars. You can walk, bike, sled, or ski, even taking along your dog, as this event will be dog-friendly.
Sleigh Rides are available on Dec. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, and 28. For $25, you can take aboard one of the sleighs, which hold about 18 to 20 people depending on the sleigh selected.
If the weather is too cold, cancellations may occur. If temperatures for the evening in Edmonton are colder than -23°C, the sleigh rides for that night will be cancelled.
Tickets for the sleigh rides go on sale Nov. 8, so don’t miss your chance to book them!
