With another eventful Super Bowl Sunday officially behind us, it’s time to reflect on all the memorable moments both on and off the field at this year’s game. From the iconic commercials to the standout live performances and the viral tweets, everyone had something to watch at Super Bowl LVI, not just the football fans.
Even though we don’t an NFL team in the north just yet (but we might soon!), Canadian stars were out in big numbers at the Super Bowl this year.
Drake was among the celebs in the crowd cheering for the LA Rams. The rapper had a lot at stake, revealing on Instagram that he fronted nearly $1.25 million in bitcoin on three separate bets for the game. Even though he won two out of the three bets he placed, the third and final bet cost the rapper around $700,000 in bitcoin according to Daily Mail.

Drake also performed at the “Homecoming Weekend” party the evening before the Super Bowl. The star even extended his set, telling the crowd, “They flew me out of like three feet of snow for this, so I got to perform for you,” according to ABC News.
Also in attendance at the Super Bowl weekend festivities was Justin Bieber, who hosted a party at an LA club on Friday. However, the event took a tragic turn when a fight outside of the venue led to four people getting shot, including rapper Kodak Black.
There were plenty of famous Canadians to spot on game day too, including The Weeknd and Ryan Reynolds cheering in the stands. Out on the field, LA Rams players Michael Hoecht and Alaric Jackson made Canada proud, both NFLers hailing from Ontario.
And in the commercials, Eugene Levy, Seth Rogen, Mike Myers, and honourary Canadian Kyle Lowry were among the celebs who took centre stage.
It was certainly a Super Bowl Sunday to remember. Here’s to hoping that the stars will be coming to us again for the NBA Finals in June.
