Standing Room Only is located in Guelph, Ontario’s historic Ward neighbourhood, crafting “delicious and innovative cocktails in an intimate and creative space.”

You’ll have to reserve a spot to dine and hang out here as it only spans 144 square feet and only holds 10 guests – a perfect size for a small group of friends.

According to Standing Room Only, “Hospitality and history are at the heart of Standing Room Only.”

“The intention from the get-go was to create a quiet speakeasy.”

“From the unique top hat light fixtures and bottle toppers, a nod to Guelph’s famous Biltmore Hat Company, to the fabulous whiskey-barrel bathroom sink, to black and white classics playing on the screen or the 10-foot tall ladies behind the bar, to the multilingual floor greeting, or to every bar stool, the sliding ladder, and the sleek S-shaped bar.”

The story behind this cool space is pretty interesting, too!

The bar’s owner Doug Todd said he purchased the spot and during the design process, Googled “smallest bar.”

From there, he found Montréal’s 150-square foot El Pequeño, a Cuban-themed bar in the heart of Vieux-Port and immediately grabbed a measuring tape only to discover that the space beat the record by six square feet. The wheels really began turning after that!

Enjoy a cocktail in a record-setting bar and don’t forget to reserve your spot here.

Have fun at Canada’s smallest bar, Ontario!
