Noooo, Sotheby’s, don’t do this to us! After years on the market, Canada’s most expensive home has sold, but we’re not going to find out how much it went for. The aptly named Belmont Estate in Vancouver sold earlier this week in a private sale that leaves us more curious than ever!

First listed for over $60M, the palatial home got a slight price reduction down to more like $58M, where it stayed on the market for over a year. At that sale price, the home was far and away the most expensive one for sale in Canada, by around $10M.

And honestly, it more or less lives up to the opulent price. Located in Vancouver’s prestigious Point Grey neighbourhood, the property offers sweeping views of the ocean and the North Shore. Sitting on around 1.3 acres, the home features some 22,000 square feet of indoor, with an emphasis on hosting and entertaining.

Even though there where only 5 designated bedrooms, the home features grand halls, an indoor pool and sauna, and a ‘hobby orchard’ among other things. Looking for a bathroom during a garden part? Well, there are 12 of them.

We think the best way the home is summed up is the ‘intimate’ dining room that seats 20 guests. Whatever the case, Canada’s most expensive home has been sold, and now we get to watch for a new challenger to emerge.
