Sizzling temperatures return: Here’s your first look at Canada’s summer 2023 forecast

Sick and tired of the snow, the gloom and the grey? Well, there’s actually a pretty good chance you’ll be reminiscing about the cold in just a few short months.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, which just released its extended summer forecast for Canada, things are about to get pretty spicy for people coast to coast and you’ll want to be ready.

“While we hate to be the bearer of bad news, we’d be amiss not to warn you of what our long-range weather outlook is pointing to – Sizzling Temperatures,” they write, adding that conditions will be warmer than normal.

“Temperatures at times will soar into past 32°C, in some cases even approaching 37°C.  Factor in the oppressive humidity and heat indices (“feels like” temps) could approach 40°C in some areas.”

These areas likely include Quebec and the Maritimes, which the Farmers’ Almanac describes as “scorching” this summer, as well as the Prairie provinces – which they labelled below as “broiling.”

Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, can also expect above-average levels of precipitation, while Ontario could feel pretty “soggy” come a warm-to-hot season.

As for British Columbia and Newfoundland? These provinces will likely be pretty dry so drink lots of water and stock up on sunscreen! Things very well could change between now and June 21st but we wouldn’t be surprised if this particular summer forecast for Canada sticks.

It won’t be long until we’re in the thick of it, friends! Prepare and (try) to enjoy yourselves.
