Canada is home to some of the best ski resorts in the entire world according to this new list. Get ready to hit the slopes this winter.
Travel + Leisure‘s latest list looks at the thousands of ski resorts across the world and narrows it down to 20 of the best.
These spots offer thrilling winter experiences whether it be at a family-run establishment or huge, all-inclusive resorts. Beginner-friendly to expert slopes, these ski resorts are welcoming to all and a must-visit if you’re an avid skier.
Though you won’t have to travel far to enjoy the best. According to the list, two of the ski resorts are located in Canada – Whistler Blackcomb and Mont Tremblant.
“Whistler is the place to go for a larger-than-life ski and snowboard experience. It’s home to vast and varied terrain, which makes sense, considering it’s the largest ski resort in North America,” shares the list.

“And while about 20 percent of its trails are marked for beginners, Whistler really is a seasoned skier’s paradise, as 50 percent of the trails are marked as intermediate, while a whopping 30 percent are advanced terrain.”
Whistler Blackcomb’s average snowfall is about 458 inches so if you were looking for a winter wonderland, this is the place to be.
They recommend booking a room at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for the best view of the mountain every morning.
As for Mon Tremblant, the beloved ski mountain in Quebec, Travel + Leisure compares it to European-style mountains.
“The picturesque ski village is colorful and quaint, just like those you’d find in the Alps,” states the site.
“And it has mountain peaks to match, with 2,871 feet of vertical terrain to ski across four slopes, including 178 acres of glades for a little backcountry-style fun.”
It gets an average snowfall of 137 inches, according to T+L.
