There’s no surprise here that Canada has once again ranked as one of the best countries in the world but compared to last year’s results, we took a bit of a fall from first place. The annual US News Best Countries Report has been released and it looks like Canada is now third on the list.

According to the ranking by the U.S. News & World Report and the University of Pennsylvania, 85 countries were evaluated based on 73 attributes. These attributes were then grouped into 10 sub rankings: Adventure, Agility, Cultural Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for Business, Power, Social Purpose, and Quality of Life.

“Quality of life became the most heavily weighted sub ranking this year, as determined by the most recent gross domestic product per capita data,” states the report.

That being said, Canada didn’t come up on top like it did in 2021. None other than the country of Switzerland took first place for its fifth time. Trailing behind in second came Germany, Canada in third, the U.S in fourth, and Sweden in fifth.

Our beloved country also came in third for Most Agile, again. Won’t you look at that! Compared to last year’s numbers, Canada dropped in Quality of Life, and Social Purpose, just to name a few. We unfortunately did not reach a perfect 100 score in any of the categories.

As for the others, here’s what other countries made the top 10:
