Hold your horses! The sun is out, but that doesn’t mean the best of winter is behind us. Saddle up for what will probably be the craziest event this season, Skijordue 2020.

Neigh, that’s not a typo (we had to). Skijordue is an event that combines the absolute best of the Canadian winter sports and food. What could be better than skiing, cheese, and friends? Literally nothing, that’s what.

During this event, riders will pull a skier behind them to perform stunts and tricks. Skijor will have competitors in various categories like circuit, relay, sprint, and our personal favourite, the lounge race. Where they literally race on couches.

Yeah. This is actually a thing that is happening.

While you watch the Skijors compete for a spicy prize of $10,000, stuff your face with poutine, bratwurst sausage, and fondue. If that isn’t enough to make your mouth water and freeze over like the mountain you’ll be standing on, there’s also craft beer and cocktails.

They’ll also have a dance party, a makers market, photo booths, and awards for the best dressed. This is going to be a wild afternoon, Calgary.

You won’t want to miss it when it all goes down this Saturday, February 22nd.
