Calgary’s new carnival themed bar opens today with insane food, drinks, & live entertainment

Listen up Calgary, there’s a new addition to 17th Ave’s bar scene, and it happens to be YYC’s first-ever carnival-themed bar. Let us introduce you to HONEY Lounge & Bar.

Frankly, it wouldn’t really be fair to term it a bar ‘cause it is technically many things- it’s a carnival-themed food, dessert & cocktail joint, a live entertainment hub and one of the coolest spots to hit our DT in, well, a long time.

The Carnival-inspired cocktail menu includes some seriously funky and colourful libations including Ferrero Rocher martini, creamsicle soda, hard root beer Float and Banana Split Daiquiri Shake among others. And while you won’t find entrées, you will find all Carnival faves- think Chilli Cheese Poutine, Colossal Onion, Chicken in a Waffle Cone, Jamaican Patties and a lot more.

Living up to the original café’s dessert character, the cocktail bar features its own selection of desserts including giant sundaes, churros, banana split funnel cake and sooooo much cotton candy – ‘cause no carnival is ever complete without cotton candy.

Basically, HONEY brought together everything we need for a fun and memorable evening- desserting, snacking, cocktailing, and live entertaining, all under one roof & tied in with a carnival theme. So, we wouldn’t be surprised if this place makes it on everyone’s go-to bar list. Heck, we’re def putting it on ours.

Be it for the fact that it is the only carnival-themed bar in town or the ridiculously yum snacks and desserts, you absolutely have to check it out RN!
